About the event

Join Ranjeeta Basu on Friday, May 8th, for a conversation about "Creating Capacity for Stress Reduction and Student Success using Mindfulness-Based Practices."

The Center for Contemplative Practices at CSU San Marcos has been studying the impact of mindfulness practices on student success and well-being. Mindfulness practices can: (i) reduce emotional reactivity and procrastination; (ii) increase feelings of connectedness, compassion, and belonging; and (iii) help students thrive and develop resilience in an uncertain and rapidly changing world. In this session, we will discuss personal goals and motivations for incorporating mindfulness practices in the classroom and findings from some of our projects. We will also experience one or more of the evidence-based strategies we have found to be effective.
